Our Mission
Mariposa is the Spanish word for butterfly. They are deep and powerful representations of life. Butterflies are a metaphor representing spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope, and life.
Mariposa Alliance is committed to supporting low-income youth, at-promise and foster care youth who are aging out of the foster system. Our goal is to provide them with options and opportunities to succeed. We offer essential services such as financial education, life-skills training, and occupational skills training to help young adults achieve their full potential.

What We Do
​ We've forged a formidable alliance of community partners dedicated to shaping the future of our youth. Together, we mentor, educate, and empower them, guiding them towards their passions and career aspirations. Our comprehensive approach includes financial literacy workshops, fostering invaluable skills in money management and budgeting. Collaborating closely with local businesses, we provide job training opportunities and immersive shadowing experiences. Moreover, we've established strong connections with trade schools, apprentice programs, and junior colleges, ensuring our youth are well-equipped for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in their professional journey.

Our Story
Founder: Freddie Guerrero

As an at-risk youngster to foster-child, I was that child who was nurtured and mentored with positive life skillsets that allowed me to grow and successfully transform my life.
This transition was possible due to the many people who not only provided services but also gave of themselves. I have been working with at-risk children as a deputy probation officer for a good portion of my life.
I know what at-risk children experience and feel because I was one as well. After many years of thinking of how to give back, I acted on my plan and created Mariposa Alliance.
Our Vision
We currently focus our services on youth between the ages of 16 to 24. Through our programs and partners, we will create positive community ripples as well as newly skilled and empowered students. Eventually, we would like to extend our services to their families and the community by offering legal assistance, job placement, financial coaching, parental classes, and more!
