Hello! My name is Jasmyn Flores, and I am currently attending the University of California, Irvine. I am pursuing a major in Sociology and a minor in Education. I am from Azusa, California, where I've witnessed the struggles—experienced by peers, friends, and myself—when seeking guidance for higher education. The lack of accessible support and direction in our community often posed challenges in navigating the path toward academic success. These experiences
ignited a strong drive in me to work towards improving access to resources and guidance for future students facing similar obstacles.
Observing how deserving students lack access to necessary resources that would propel them into higher education is what drives my passion for narrowing the opportunity gaps in education. This limitation of access, often beyond their control, resonates with me. I'm dedicated to understanding the underlying issues and providing solutions to make sure that every student has the resources and encouragement they need to fulfill their academic goals.
I am graduating with my bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Education this spring. My academic goals are to further my education by pursuing a Master's Degree in Social Work. I'm truly excited to be part of empowering communities and shaping futures!
