The People Behind the Purpose

Every movement begins with a belief that something can be better.

At Mariposa Alliance, that belief brought together a group of founders and co-founders who saw an opportunity to create something rooted in community, compassion, collaboration, and lasting change.

Our name, Mariposa—Spanish for butterfly—reflects the spirit behind our work: transformation doesn't happen all at once. It begins with a small idea, grows through connection and care, and eventually takes flight.

 

Meet the Founders and Co-Founders

We are a team of people with different experiences, perspectives, talents, and stories—but a shared commitment to building pathways toward opportunity and strengthening the communities we serve.

Our founders and co-founders didn't come together because they had all the same answers. They came together because they were willing to ask important questions, listen to the community, and imagine what could be possible when people work together.

Some bring experience from the nonprofit and community sectors. Others bring professional expertise, lived experience, creative vision, advocacy, leadership, or simply a deep commitment to helping others.

Together, those perspectives form the foundation of Mariposa Alliance.
